Farewell Waltz

Maybe there is no salvation...

A total London tourist!

Yes, I'm a total tourist in London today, after 7 long years of living in this city! Was on broad of the sight-seeting bus, driven through all the major attractions, then visited the summer opening of the Buckingham Palace! I have to say it's much more splendor in the inside. The best part maybe is the free audio guide with Chinese, which saved me from mission impossible: listening to the guide and translating it at the same time. All in all, i've had a nice day 'sight-seeing' in London!

Batman!!!

The much anticipated film finally!
So not to let too much review get into my head before I see the actual film, I went to the cinema last night which is the UK opening night. Still the review from the BBC that I read earlier lingered in my head. Was the Joker's performance really "shouting: look, i'm acting"? Is Christian Bale delivering one of his best performance even though more than half of the time he's wearing the bat suit?
Shame that with all these questions, I couldn't watch the film without any judgement/opinion from other people. The action was all right, I wasn't a big fan on actions anyway. The conversations, somehow I suspect my hearing is not very well, especially Batman with the very low voice, half of the time I couldn't figure out what he was saying, literally!
As to Heath Ledger, hmmmm, I absolutely adores him in Brokeback mountain, he's so subtle and brillaint in it! While here, is all those critics reviews and co-star dedication just part of a hype, because obviously now he's dead? I couldn't make up my mind.
As the film finishes, another question pops up. This is not a traditional protrait of a typical hero, it is a hero that has to do "bad" things to be good (if that makes any sense), and it is a time when "truth is not enough". I can't help wondering, does this reflect on the whole American mentality of the reality because now they are not playing a role of the "get-rid-of the dictator" kind of hero any more, they are "forced" to do bad things for the good course?
Anyway, thought-provoking films are good, plus Batman is still so very COOL!
